Getting Active

It’s depressing to remain indoors when the day out is gorgeous. Just like today. But sometimes, it can’t be helped. There are other priorities to deal with urgently and once that’s set aside, then maybe there’s enough time to get out there and be active for the day.

Anyhow, I’ve come to realise recently that what I want out of life is to be able to do all the things that I’ve dreamed of doing — being adventurous and productive. This means getting more involved in physically tasking activities, aside from just the typical yoga I do. I recently got into rock climbing and it has been a great thrill for me. I was able to overcome my fear of heights through it, while also feeling a sense of accomplishment as I reached the very top of the wall. And I have one of my close friends to thank for this wonderful experience. Now I knowΒ that I want more of these sorts of experiences, and moving back to the Philippines just might be my ticket into an intensely active lifestyle. Zumba, rock climbing, jujitsu, scuba diving, cross-country cycling, horseback riding, CrossFit, water skiing, parkour, Capoeira, etc. Maybe even joining a marathon or triathlon for at least once in my life. This may all sound too ambitious, but heck, I’m going to give it all a go.

While I’m doing all that, I’ll definitely still continue with writing. It’s really something I cannot live without, writing, and I’d be miserable without the ability to express myself through it.

I’d also want to continue learning – an instrument, a new language (Portuguese, Tagalog, Spanish), and anything else.

No time to be idle really. That’s my new goal. I really cannot allow laziness and procrastination to enter now.

With this new game plan being initiated by myself in my life, I’m bound to meet like-minded individuals who I’d get along with, making my life feel more fulfilled and less tedious and trapped — new people! No sitting around being lazy any more.

Temporary Phases

Temporary phases
Knowing all this to be fleeting
But constantly hoping for them to be lasting

Pointless to hold on to
As they pass so quickly
They never last
They’ll always be in the past
Always part of memories

Like sand in the desert
Always shifting, never inert
As the ocean — calm, raging, violent
Unexpectedly volatile from moment to moment

Things always change
Just turn to another new page
And let things be
Let the mind be at peace
